We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant to design, develop, and support custom developments and enhancements across our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate combines strong classical ABAP expertise with exposure to modern SAP development paradigms and works closely with functional consultants to deliver high-quality, high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy ABAP objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW).
- Develop and maintain object-oriented ABAP (ABAP OO), CDS views, AMDPs, and OData services.
- Work with functional teams (SD, MM, FI, etc.) to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Perform code reviews, performance tuning, and debugging of existing custom developments.
- Support integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and REST/SOAP-based web services.
- Participate in S/4HANA projects including custom code remediation and adaptation.
- Prepare technical documentation and follow established development and transport management standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–7 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong command of core ABAP: data dictionary, reports (classical/ALV), enhancements (BAdIs, user exits, enhancement framework), smart forms/Adobe forms, and workflows.
- Solid experience with ABAP OO, CDS views, and OData service development.
- Experience working in S/4HANA environments and with HANA-optimized development.
- Good understanding of integration technologies (IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, proxies, web services).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills; ability to work directly with functional consultants and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred / Big Plus
- Experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (ABAP RAP).
- Experience with ABAP on Cloud / ABAP Cloud development on SAP BTP (Steampunk / Embedded Steampunk).
- Exposure to SAP BTP services, Fiori/UI5, and clean core extensibility concepts.
- SAP ABAP or SAP BTP certification.
